And what would be better than a sweet apple- strawberry crumble ? Let’s get into the recipe of this delicious pastry.
This strawberry and apple crumble has a super crunchy topping and the light-brown sugar adds extra crispness and makes a huge difference. Cut the apples into whatever size you like but make sure that the fruits are fresh and clean, it will add more value to it.
This recipe uses two pounds of fresh strawberries, a little lemon juice to brighten the flavors, a little sugar to enhance the sweetness of the berries, and cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
To make the crumble topping place your flour in a bowl rub in the butter to resemble breadcrumbs and stir in the sugar. Place the chopped cooking apple and water in a pan and cool over very low heat until they begin to soften. Add the strawberries and sugar and cook for further 3-4 minutes. Spoon into an ovenproof dish and cover with the crumble topping. Bake in a preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden. Delicious served hot with custard or cream.
